First Swimming Lesson and "Momma!"

I realized tonight as I uploaded 72 pictures from my camera to the computer that I am WAY behind in blogging, so I am going to do my best to update everyone in the next few weeks...

Since my last blog update, Manu and I took the little man for our first family vacation to Stowe, Vermont over Martin Luther King weekend (Jan 15-17). It was heaven! I was nervous about the drive (over 6 hours!) but when we got there it was all worth it - Stowe could not be less "Manhattan-like" if it tried - it was such a lovely, rustic, low-key place - a wonderful retreat for us!

Manu and I took turns watching Shaan so we could both ski - so much fun! We rented a condo through VRBO, and it was AMAZING!!! We honestly didn't pay all that much, but since the condo was part of a really nice resort (TopNotch Resorts) we had access to all the resort amenities (free breakfast, discounted ski rental, discounted lift tickets, "tea time" (including yummy cookies!), indoor pool, etc). Also, the owner was sooo incredible - she actually bought a "pack n play" for us so we didn't have to worry about Shaan while we were there - ahhh - heaven!

Anyways, as I mentioned earlier - indoor pool - so we took Shaan for his first swimming lesson!

Shaan, look at the camera....

Great, there we go!

Easing into the water....

We made it! And, we're not crying (p.s. - the pool was NOT heated, would have been sooo much cooler if it was...but Shaan was a trooper and seemed to like it anyways!)

Also, random pic of him modeling his swimtrunks the day we received them...Mommy was so excited...

Lastly, Shaan has been babbling a lot recently - a lot of "baba", "brrrr", "bhua", and the last few days he has been saying "momma." I'm not sure if he knows what it means or not, but his momma sure is excited nonetheless!!!!

  1. we actually went to Stowe a few years ago! Isn't it such a beautiful place?! It was literally 20 below when we were there so the skiing was rough!
Shaan is getting so big! And so fun that he's starting to say words! Ryder's babbling lots too...so much fun.

  2. I am so glad you two got away! I am so ready. Grant and I are taking a trip to SC in March, but sans Eva. She is 9months! She has been saying lots of dada and some mamama... So, exciting.
