Now we have another reason to call him "little piglet." When we went for our one month checkup last Wednesday, the pediatrician was shocked by how much weight he had gained (in a good way). We really had to get some meat on his bones, so she told us that at a minimum she wanted him to gain 23 ounces (or an ounce a day) between our visits. We were pleasantly surprised when she told us he had gained 40 ounces, or 2.5 pounds in 3 weeks. Now we're up to 8 pounds, which is in the range of a "normal" baby, thankfully. And it's all because our little piglet has been working so hard....
However, I think we have created a monster in that even when he is not nursing, he stays in nursing mode because that seems to be the only thing he knows how to do (since we have literally been shoving the breast/bottle at him constantly to ensure he gains weight). What do I mean by this? Well, I think it's best described with a picture - when we're not nursing, this is what Shaan does during the day...
Shaan's "nursing face"
Ok, that is not completely fair to him - he does have a few other funny faces that he whips out from time to time, such as:
"Mom, you're really annoying me" face
"Trying to crack a grin" face
"Getting kinda sleepy" face
"I really hate bathtime" face

love all the pics! such cute faces he makes(:
